We are very proud to announce that Donell Deremer has earned her Doctor of Medical Science or DMSc
Many of you have met and worked with Donell Deremer in the course of being treated in our office. Well, a big CONGRATULATIONS! is due to Donell as she has just completed a LOT of hard work and earned her Doctor of Medical Science or DMSc.
Donell got her degree from the University of Lynchburg in Lynchburg Virginia after completing her Masters degree in order to enroll.
Donell’s interest is in “hand’s on” medicine, working with patients on a day to day basis, and so she chose the Clinical track to study.
You can see her Diploma for Dermatology in the office, we are honored to have it there.
When we asked what inspired her she said:
“I’ve always been interested in the human body and how it works and increasing the depth and breadth of my knowledge about it.” She is now looking at a Dermatology Fellowship to continue her learning journey.
While in her DMSc program Donell learned about all aspects of patient care: ethical considerations, health care law, insurance, state laws, received her certification to prescribe controlled substances, and even had a FEMA course for disaster disaster response.
Donell enjoys sharing her knowledge with others and has written several articles addressing questions and concerns that patients, or prospective patients, have about medical aesthetics:

Finally, Donell stressed the importance of continuing education, particularly for medical professionals and she plans on expanding her clinical dermatology education going forward.
